This highlights tour takes you to Negombo, Dambulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Tissa/Yala, Bentota Beach and finishing in Colombo. 

Day 01: Australia ► Negombo 
Afternoon depart Australia to Negombo. Upon arrival meet your guide and transfer you to four star hotel for 2 nights. 
 
Day 02: Negombo (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
City tour of Negombo, visit the remaining ruins of the Dutch period and a Buddhist temple.  This stunning seaside town is popular for its large harvests of lobsters, crabs and prawns. See the fish auctions down by the beach followed by the famous Negombo bazaar.  
 
Day 03: Negombo ► Yapahuwa  Dambulla Rock Cave Temple ► Sigiriya (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
After breakfast leave for Yapahuwa. The Citadel of Yapahuwa abound a variety of features of archaeological importance. The fortification and the moat, which extend from west end of the Southern part of the rock are connected to the other side of the rock in the shape of a horse shoe. There are no buildings of any historical value in the outer city. Tiles, potsherds and bricks are strewn everywhere in the vicinity of the outer city. En route visit the Dambulla rock cave temple built by king Walagambahu, in the 1st Century B.C. it is a World Heritage Site, and the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. Check in to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 04: Sigiriya ► Polonnaruwa  Minnariya National Park (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
This morning visit Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital and a World Heritage Site. This second capital city of Sri Lanka was built in the 11th and 12th centuries. See the ruins of the Royal Palace, Lotus Bath and Polonnaruwa Statue and visit the Gal Vihare which is splendid statues of the Buddha carved out of rock. In the afternoon drive to the spectacular Minnariya Sanctuary, home to a dazzling array of wildlife including elephant, buffalo, wild boar, and some 160 species of birds. Depending on the movement of elephants the national park visit may be switched to Kaudulla National Park instead as the animals move freely between the parks depending on the water levels at the tanks or reservoirs. 
 
Day 05: Sigiriya Rock Fortress ► Matale ► Kandy (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
After breakfast, explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a World Heritage site of 5th century AD, built by the King Kashyapa. Its home to water gardens, frescoes, ancient graffiti and commands an amazing view of Sri Lanka’s greenery. Later afternoon leave for Kandy, capital of Hill country. En route visit a special garden at Matale to learn about species and their use in Sri Lankan cuisines. Later visit Enjoy some sightseeing such as the Temple of Tooth, an arts and crafts work shop, oriental market place, a bazaar and a gem lapidary where you can see how rough gems (particularly the famous Blue & Star sapphires) are mined cut and polished using traditional methods. In the evening enjoy a cultural show of traditional Kandyan Dancers and fire walkers. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 06:  Kandy  Pinnawela ► Peradeniya  Kandy (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Morning visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the same location. Enjoy lunch overlooking the river and watch the elephants being bathed by their Mahouts. Later visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya and further explore/enjoy the nature of the area followed by a Rice & Curry Night in Kandy.
 
Day 07:  Kandy  Tea Factory ► Nuwara Eliya (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Take the train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya. You will be picked up at the Nanu Oya Station and driven through scenic mountains to Nuwara Eliya, well known as “Little England”. Stop at the mountains covered with tea bushes and at waterfalls. Enjoy the magnificent landscape. Visit a tea factory, follow the tea trails to watch the interesting process and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Ceylon tea. Check-in to four star hotel for 1 night.
 
Day 08: Nuwara Eliya ► Ella Gap ► Tissa/Yala (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Enjoy your breakfast in the hill country, leave for Yala via Ella Gap where you can enjoy the marvellous view over the hill country. Continue your journey to Yala National Park on Sri Lanka’s south-east, probably one of the best wildlife areas in the world in which to observe leopards. In the evening enjoy a jeep safari at Yala national park, which is also home to wild elephants, wild boars, wild buffaloes, bears, deer and crocodiles. Large flocks of migratory and indigenous birds are also found here. Check- in to four star hotel for 1 night.
 
Day 09: Tissa ► Kataragama ► Colombo (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
After breakfast, visit to well known Hindu Temple at Kataragama. Then continue to Colombo on arrive check in to four star hotel for 1 night.
 
Day 10: Colombo ► Australia (Breakfast. Lunch)
Morning visit Pettah, Colonial era remaining, Fort, Galle Face Green, Independence Square, Old parliament House and enjoy Beira Lake. Afternoon enjoy free leisure time with late check out until 6pm, and then transfer to airport for your flight home.
 
Day 11:  Australia 
Arrive home in the evening ending most memorable experiences.
