​This experiences tour allows travellers to explore the history and culture of Thailand. Start your journey in Bangkok, River Kwai, Death Railway Bridge, and Hell Fire Pass, travelling north to Chiang Mai, Golden Triangle and Chiang Rai.

Day 01: Australia ► Bangkok
Morning departs Australia to Bangkok. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 02: Bangkok (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Morning visit The Grand Palace, Golden Buddha (5½ tons of solid gold), Wat Po, the most extensive temple with its colossal Reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings. Afternoon visit Thonburi, the western part of Bangkok, situated on the right-hand side of the Chao Phya River. Its many canals originally gave Bangkok the name “Venice of the East.” Passing by boat along the canals gives you a first-hand impression of the scenic life along Bangkok’s waterways. Visit the Royal Barges and the Temple of Dawn on the way back.
 
Day 03: Bangkok ► Kanchanaburi ► River Kwai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today travel by road to rural floating market of Damnoen Saduak situated 110km west of Bangkok. Board a private longboat along the canal to visit the market of Damnoen Saduak wholesales centre for fruits and vegetables from the nearby orchards. After lunch continue to Kanchanaburi to visit Tiger Temple. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 04: River Kwai ► Death Railway (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Visit the world famous bridge on the River Kwai, built during World War II by prisoners of war. The bridge is located near the town of Kanchanaburi. Then visit one of the two well-kept cemeteries, which contain the graves of an estimated 9,000 Allied soldiers who lost their lives while building the bridge and constructing the notorious “Death Railway” which the Japanese had hoped to stretch all the way to the Burmese border. Then take a train ride to Namtok Station. Afternoon visit Hell Fire Pass Memorial
 
Day 05: River Kwai ► Ayutthaya ►  Bangkok ► Chiang Mai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today travel by road to Ayutthaya, the former Thai Kingdom capital city from 1350 to 1767. It ultimately suffered destruction at the hands of the Burmese. On arrival visit the largest temple of Wat Phra Sisanphet, which was used as the Royal Temple Palace by several kings. The following sight is Wat Chai Wattanaram where the construction patterns are very interesting. Then continue to Bang - Pa - In Summer Palace serving as the summer palace for many Thai monarchs from the 17th century. This structure has a captivating collection of marvellous pavilions in a variety of Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectural styles. Afternoon, transfer to airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival check-in to four star hotel for 3 nights.
 
Day 06: Chiang Mai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Morning visit the famous Doi Suthep Mountain and embark on a walk leading us to the Wat Prathat Temple near the summit. At an elevation of over 1,000m the temple grounds afford a panoramic view over the surrounding countryside. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 07: Chiang Mai (Breakfast. Lunch)
Today drive to the northern hill region around Chiang Dao, which is home to a wide array of hill tribe groups. Along the way stop at Orchid Farm and then the Elephant Camp of Maetaman. Here you can see these huge animals handling timber, painting and playing football before we enjoy an exciting elephant ride through the forest to the hill tribe village.
 
Day 08: Chiang Mai ► Chiang Saen ► Golden Triangle ► Chiang Rai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today travel by road to Chiang Saen, former capital of the first Thai Kingdom, situated directly on Mekong River at the border between Thailand and Laos. Stop at Hot Spring Village on the way. Upon arrival Chiang Saen, visit Wat Phra Dhat Jom Kitti by climbing 383 steps to the top of hill. Also visit Wat Chedi Luang and small museum. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 09: Chiang Rai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today visit Yao and Akha hill tribe villages, then continue to Doi Mae Salong, passing through beautiful mountain scenery and stunning views of Thailand, Myanmar and the Mekong Valley. Leave Doi Mae Salong to Mae Sai, the northernmost Thai town on the Myanmar border. Walk around local market with opportunity for shopping.
 
Day 10: Chiang Rai ► Bangkok (Breakfast)
Morning transfers to Chiang Rai airport for flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival, transfers to four star hotel for 1 night. Free leisure time for the remainder of the day.
 
Day 11: Bangkok ► Australia (Breakfast)
Today transfer to airport for your flight home.
 
Day 12: Australia arrival
Arrive home in the morning with exciting memories.
