​This highlights tour takes in the popular sites of Thailand. The tour starts in Bangkok, travelling to Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Golden Triangle and Chiang Rai, finishing with the beautiful beaches of Phuket and Phi Phi Island.

Day 01: Australia ► Bangkok 
Morning depart Australia to Bangkok. Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to four star hotel for 2 nights. 
 
Day 02: Bangkok (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)     
Morning visit The Grand Palace, Golden Buddha (5½ tons of solid gold), Wat Po, the most extensive temple with its colossal Reclining Buddha, and the Chedis of the Kings. Afternoon visit Thonburi, in the western part of Bangkok situated on the right-hand side of the Chao Phya River. Its many canals originally gave Bangkok the name “Venice of the East.” Passing by boat along the canals gives you a first-hand impression of the scenic life along Bangkok’s waterways. Visit the Royal Barges and the Temple of Dawn on the way back. 
 
Day 03: Bangkok ► Kanchanaburi ► River Kwai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner) 
Today travel by road to rural floating market of Damnoen Saduak situated 110km west of Bangkok. Board a private longboat along the canal to visit the market of Damnoen Saduak wholesale centres for fruits and vegetables from the nearby orchards. After lunch continue to Kanchanaburi and visit Tiger Temple. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights. 
 
Day 04: River Kwai ► Death Railway (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner) 
Visit the world famous bridge on the River Kwai, built during World War II by the prisoners of war. The bridge is located near the town of Kanchanaburi, then visit one of two well-kept cemeteries, which contain the graves of an estimated 9,000 Allied soldiers who lost their lives while building the bridge and constructing the notorious “Death Railway” which the Japanese had hoped to stretch all the way to the Burmese border. Then take a train ride to Namtok Station and in the afternoon visit Hell Fire Pass Memorial. 
 
Day 05: River Kwai ► Ayutthaya ► Bangkok ► Chiang Rai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
This morning travel by road to Ayutthaya, the former Thai Kingdom capital city from 1350 to 1767. It ultimately suffered destruction at the hands of the Burmese. On arrival visit the largest temple of Wat Phra Sisanphet, which was used as the Royal Temple Palace by several kings. The following sight is Wat Chai Wattanaram where the construction patterns are very interesting. Then continue to Bang - Pa - In Summer Palace served as the summer palace for many Thai monarchs from the 17th century. This structure has a captivating collection of marvellous pavilions in a variety of Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectural styles. Afternoon transfer to airport for flight to Chiang Rai. On arrival, transfer to four star hotel for 3 nights. 
 
Day 06: Chiang Rai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner) 
Today visit Yao and Akha hill tribe villages, then continue to Doi Mae Salong, passing through beautiful mountain scenery and stunning views of Thailand, Myanmar and the Mekong Valley. Leave Doi Mae Salong to Mae Sai, the northernmost Thai town on the Myanmar border. Walk around the local markets with opportunities for shopping. 
 
Day 07: Chiang Rai (Breakfast. Lunch) 
Today drive to Chiang Saen, former capital of the first Thai Kingdom, situated directly on Mekong River at the border between Thailand and Laos. Stop at Hot Spring Village on the way. Upon arrival at Chaing Saen visit Wat Phra Dhat Jom Kitti by climbing 383 steps to the top of hill. Also visit Wat Chedi Luang and a small museum. After lunch you will visit a local school to see how they study in poor conditions. Most of the students are hill tribe children. Then drive back to Chiang Rai where you can explore the local night markets at your leisure near the hotel. 
 
Day 08: Chiang Rai ► Chiang Mai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner) 
Depart Chiang Rai by road to Chiang Mai and on the way visit Wat Rongkhun (White Temple), handicraft village, Wiang Kum Kam (Lost City). Check-in to four star hotel for 3 nights. 
 
Day 09: Chiang Mai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Morning drive west towards the famous DoiS uthep Mountain and embark on a walk leading to the Wat Prathat Temple near the summit. At an elevation of over 1,000m, the temple grounds offer panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. You follow this with visits to the old and new parts of the town featuring great diversity. The “Rose of the North”, Chiang Mai, has always been noted for its exquisite handicrafts in combination with the traditional wares of the hill tribe people and offers fantastic shopping opportunities. Heading out of town we drive to the neighbouring villages of Sankampaeng and Borsarng to see the various cottage industries of silk weaving, woodcarving, silver ware and umbrella making. 
 
Day 10: Chiang Mai (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today we set off on an hour and half drive to the northern hill region around Chiang Dao, which is home to a wide array of hill tribe groups. The breathtaking mountain scenery makes for an interesting journey. Along the way we stop at an elephant camp to see these huge animals handling timber before you enjoy an exciting elephant ride past the forest to the hill tribe villages. 
 
Day 11: Chiang Mai ► Phuket (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner) 
Morning transfers to Chiang Mai airport for your flight to Phuket. Upon arrival meet your guide and transfer to four star hotel for 4 nights. 
 
Day 12: Phuket (Breakfast. Lunch) 
Today travel by road to Phuket Islands; drive along the beach roads for the views of Patong, Karon, Kata, KhoPu and Rawai beaches. After lunch continue to the ‘Pearl of the Andaman’, visiting Wat Chalong, Phuket’s most beautiful and renowned monastery, the Sea Gypsy Village at Rawai Beach and the famous sunset viewpoint at Phromthep Cape one of the most beautiful panoramas on the island. 
 
Day 13: Phuket  ►  Phi Phi Island  ►  Phuket (Breakfast. Lunch)
Enjoy a day tour to Phi Phi Island with lunch served on board. 
 
Day 14: Phuket (Breakfast) 
Free leisure time. 
 
Day 15: Phuket ► Bangkok ► Australia (Breakfast) 
Morning free leisure time, afternoon meet the hotel lobby and transfer to the airport for to home. 
 
Day 16: Australia arrival 
Arrive home in the morning with exciting memories.
