This breathtaking tour begins in the green valleys and rice paddies of Sapa in northern Vietnam. You then travel south to Ha Noi, Ha Long Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang, finishing in Ho Chi Minh City with trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the mighty Mekong Delta.

Day 01: Australia ► Ha Noi
Morning depart Australia with Vietnam Airlines to Ha Noi (via Ho Chi Minh City), the unique city of tree-lined boulevards French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples. Upon arrival meet your guide and transfer to four star hotel for 2 nights.

Day 02: Ha Noi (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today city tour includes Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and Ethnic Minority Museum. After lunch, visit Lake of Restored Sword. Evening enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show.

Day 03: Ha Noi ► Sapa (Breakfast. Dinner)
Free time until late afternoon, and then meet at the hotel for dinner at a nearby restaurant before boarding the overnight soft-sleeper (share 4-berth cabin) train to Sapa.

Day 04: Sapa ► Cat Cat Minority Village ► Sapa (Lunch. Dinner)
Arrive Lao Cai station early morning, transfer to Sapa. After breakfast, visit Cat Cat village, a small village of H’Mong People, where you can relax beside the waterfall or visit the old power station of the French. Check-in to four star hotel for 1 night.

Day 05: Sapa ► Taphin ► Laochai ► Tavan ► Ha Noi (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Travel by car or Jeep to Taphin, Laochai and Tavan villages where Red Dzao and Black H’Mong will make us feel at home. En route, we pass the ruins of French - era church. Proceed to Lao Cai Station for the overnight soft-sleeper (share 4 berth cabin) train to Ha Noi.

Day 06: Ha Noi ► Ha Long Bay (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Arrive Ha Noi in the early morning and have early breakfast. Then travel by road through the Red River Delta to beautiful Ha Long Bay. The scenic drive will pass through rural landscapes before arriving at this World Heritage site. Upon arrival board the deluxe Junk Boat where you will enjoy a welcome drink and freshly caught seafood lunch whilst sailing out of the bay passing amazing shaped mountains. Later you will visit Sung Sot Cave then sail on to Titop Beach and Mountain. Weather permitting, you may wish to partake in a 400 steps climb up the mountain to enjoy a picturesque view of Ha Long Bay whilst viewing the sunset. (Overnight on deluxe Ha Long Bay Cruise)

Day 07: Ha Long Bay ► Ha Noi ► Hue (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Enjoy early morning view of the bay’s landscape. Sitting on the upper deck, you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the water of the bay before taking a small boat to visit Hang Luon. You will have free time to swim before sailing back to the harbour. After check out, have early lunch then drive back to Ha Noi Airport for flight to Hue. On the way, take short visit Dong Trieu Pottery Village. Upon arrival in Hue meet your guide and transfer to four star hotel for 2 nights.

Day 08: Hue (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today visit Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled Vietnam between 1802 and 1945, and continue visit to the elaborate tombs of Emperor Tu Duc. After lunch, visit Thien Mu Pagoda to see the 7-storey octagonal tower and an old Austin car, which transported Thich Quang to Ho Chi Minh City in 1963 for his self-immolation, then board Dragon Boat ride along the romantic Perfume River back to the hotel.

Day 09: Hue ► Da Nang ► Hoi An (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Morning travel by road to Hoi An via Da Nang (approximately 120km). Drive over the mighty Hai Van Pass for the views of the Pacific Ocean. Upon arrival take a walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Phuc Kien Temple, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200 year old Tam Ky ancestral house, the Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful local markets. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.

Day 10: Hoi An (Breakfast)
Enjoy free leisure time to explore Hoi An Town or relax at the beach.

Day 11: Hoi An ► Da Nang ► Nha Trang (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Take a morning flight to Nha Trang. On arrival visit Giant Buddha built in 1963, Long Son Pagoda and Cham Ponagar sanctuary decorated with divine animal statues and other Hindu shrines. Discover Hon Chong Promontory, an isolated site where huge rocks are piled up in a strange way. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.

Day 12: Nha Trang (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Board a boat at Cau Da port to visit some of the nearby islands. There are opportunities to swim or snorkel in the clear warm water, or take a nap under an umbrella on the sand. Afternoon return to shore and visit Dam Market for shopping.

Day 13: Nha Trang ► Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Take a morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. City tour includes Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office and War Museum where we can view the displays and photographs during the Vietnam War in the 70s. After lunch, visit Reunification Palace, the democratic regime of former South Vietnam and enjoy shopping at Ben Thanh Market. Check-in to four star hotel for 3 nights.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City ► Cu Chi Tunnels ► Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast. Lunch)
Morning drive to Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground system covering nearly 250km, which was shelter to over 16,000 locals and communist guerrillas during the war. On arrive watch a short video showing how the tunnels constructed, then exploring the hidden tunnels and on display are various mantraps. Afternoon return Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy free leisure time.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh City ► Mekong Delta ► Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Morning drives overland to Cai Be, in the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival at Cai Be, board a sampan boat to visit Cai Be floating market and experience how local people exchange their goods, fruit, vegetable and many other commodities. Continue to Vinh Long through small canals. Enjoy lunch with fresh food in the heart of fruit garden. Visit an old colonial house and a rice corn factory. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon.

Day 16: Ho Chi Minh City ► Australia (Breakfast)
Morning free time for last minute shopping. Late afternoon meet at the hotel lobby and transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Day 17: Australia arrival
Arrive home in the morning with exciting memories.

Morning transfer to airport for flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, transfer to four star hotel for 2 nights. After check-in, visit Floating Village of Chong Khneans and take a boat trip to Tonle Sap River. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. 
 
Day 02: Siem Reap (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner and Show) 
A full day tour in Siem Reap. Visit South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphuon, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, and Elephant Terrace of the Leper King. After lunch continue Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat and view the lovely sunset from Phnom Bakeng. Dinner at a local restaurant and enjoy Apsara Dance tonight.

Today visit the National Museum and Wat Phnom, Central market (where people sell jewellery, fabrics and all types of souvenirs) or Russian Market (selling silks, crafts, jewellery and more). After lunch visit Toul Sieng Museum and Khmer Rouge prison, Killing Field of Choeung Eik.
 
Day 03: Phnom Penh ► Siem Reap (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Take a morning flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap visit Angkor Thom, in the centre of the walled city and stop at the city’s most important monuments including Bayon, Baphuon, the Terrace of Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King and Phimeanakas with Royal Enclosure. Enjoy Dinner and Apsara Dance Show tonight. Check-in to four hotel 2 nights.
 
Day 04: Siem Reap (Breakfast. Lunch)
Today visit Angkor Wat, a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. Continue to Ta Prohm, one of the most popular attractions of Angkor and finally you will visit the Banteay Srei.

Take a late afternoon flight to Vientiane. On arrival meet your guide and transfer to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 02:  Vientiane (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today visit the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Hor Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. If time permits us, we will visit Morning market of Vientiane and see what you will find. Recommended items are Lao textiles, hill-tribe Art, crafts and antiques.
 
Day 03: Vientiane ► Luang Prabang (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
ake a morning flight to Luang Prabang, one of the best-preserved traditional cities in Southeast Asia. Upon arrival, visit the Royal Palace Museum, the impressive Stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. Evening, climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as  panoramic views of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. Check-in to four star hotel for 2 nights.
 
Day 04: Luang Prabang ► Pak Ou ► Luang Prabang (Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner)
Today’s tour includes the city’s oldest temple and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roof sweeping low to the ground, which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temple. Then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River where we can view the tranquil countryside, as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious Pak Ou caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai, where they make the local rice wine. On return, take a short drive to Ban Phanom, well known for its hand weaving.
 
Day 05: Luang Prabang Depart (Breakfast)
